Terms of Use

Last updated: March 2026

Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using SponsorShield. By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the SponsorShield platform at www.getsponsorshield.co.uk (the "Service"), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and SponsorShield, a company registered in England and Wales (trading as SponsorShield).

2. Service Description

SponsorShield provides a fraud-risk assessment service for UK Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) documents. Our CoreFlux™ Risk Engine analyses uploaded PDF documents against multiple authenticity signals to produce a risk assessment report.

Important: SponsorShield is an independent, private fraud-risk screening service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), the Home Office, or any other government body.

The results produced by SponsorShield are risk indicators only and do not constitute legal advice, official document verification, or a determination of authenticity by any regulatory authority. Use of this Service does not substitute professional legal advice or official UKVI verification processes.

3. Permitted Use

You may use SponsorShield solely for lawful personal or professional purposes, including:

  • Verifying the apparent authenticity of a Certificate of Sponsorship you have received or are assessing.
  • Conducting due diligence as a recruiter, HR professional, or immigration adviser.
  • Protecting yourself or others from potential document fraud.

You must not use the Service to:

  • Produce, distribute, or assist in producing fraudulent documents.
  • Circumvent, reverse-engineer, or probe our detection systems.
  • Submit documents on behalf of others without their knowledge or consent.
  • Misuse, resell, or commercially redistribute report outputs without written permission.
  • Violate any applicable law, including the Fraud Act 2006 or the Identity Documents Act 2010.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service for any user who violates these conditions, without prior notice and without refund.

4. Payment and Refunds

A free scan is available to all users without payment. A full detailed report costs £9.99 (inclusive of applicable taxes) per document analysis.

Payment is processed securely via Stripe. You must provide valid payment information to purchase a full report. By submitting payment, you authorise SponsorShield to charge the applicable fee.

Refund policy: Due to the digital and immediately deliverable nature of our reports, no refunds are issued once a report has been delivered to your email address. If you have not received your report within a reasonable time following payment, please contact us at support@getsponsorshield.co.uk and we will investigate promptly.

If a technical error on our part prevents report delivery, we will either re-deliver the report or issue a full refund at our discretion.

5. Accuracy and Limitations

Our CoreFlux™ Risk Engine applies multiple automated checks to assess the apparent risk profile of a submitted document. However, you acknowledge and accept the following limitations:

  • Results are probabilistic risk indicators, not definitive proof of authenticity or fraud.
  • A low-risk result does not guarantee that a document is genuine, and a high-risk result does not prove it is fraudulent.
  • Our system may not detect all forms of document manipulation, particularly sophisticated or novel fraud techniques.
  • The absence of a red flag does not constitute endorsement, verification, or approval of a document by SponsorShield or any government body.

You should treat our risk reports as one source of information among others. We strongly encourage users who believe they may be victims of fraud to report to Action Fraud on 0300 123 2040 and seek professional legal advice.

6. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Service, including the software, algorithms, interface design, and generated reports, are owned by or licensed to SponsorShield.

CoreFlux™ and SponsorShield™ are proprietary brand names and may be registered trade marks of SponsorShield. Unauthorised use of these names or marks is prohibited.

You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service or its outputs without our prior written consent. Reports generated are licensed to you for personal use only and may not be commercially redistributed.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, SponsorShield shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to:

  • Decisions made in reliance on our risk reports.
  • Employment, immigration, or legal consequences arising from acting on our results.
  • Loss of data, revenue, or business opportunity.
  • Any failure to detect fraudulent documents.

Our aggregate liability to you for any direct loss or damage arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific report giving rise to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Governing Law

These Terms of Use and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales.

You agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or the Service.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, applicable law, or our business practices. The date at the top of this page indicates when the terms were last revised.

Continued use of the Service following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you must cease using the Service. We will endeavour to provide notice of material changes via the website or by email where we hold your contact details.
